This Sicilian comes from a famous photograph by Raffaele Rinaldi which is the most copied Sicilian-themed photograph in Italy. Dozens of tributes have been made by countless artists, painters, illustrators and ceramists. It was also the first photograph to be drawn with your eyes closed for the creation of “Le Siciliane”. It is the flesh-and-blood version of the Moor’s heads, the typical anthropomorphic vases found throughout Sicily. The crown was commissioned to ceramist Patrizia La Bua.
