The Queen with prickly pears. Like us Sicilians, prickly on the outside and sweet on the inside.
This photograph from the series “Fruit Beauty” was taken in Palermo around 2012. The prickly pear blades and the fruits were taken from Monte Pellegrino, at the foot of which is the city of Palermo. In order not to prick the model, the inside of the blades was covered with tape. Obviously the photo is based on the traditional Sicilian Moor’s heads.

Original: 46,6 x 70 cm, original work limited to 15 copies worldwide, numbered, signed and with certificate of authenticity. Printed on museum quality paper and certified inks to ensure ultra-centenary durability.
